Summer Open Hockey Sessions
April 6 - August 29, 2026
The Bemidji Community Arena again will be offering an Open Hockey program the months of April - August for youth hockey players ages Termite/6U – High School in the 2026/2027 season.
The goal of the program is to give youth players a low-cost opportunity to "bring the outdoor rink indoors" and to provide our youth players fun, informal playing opportunities during the summer months where they can further develop skill and creativity on the ice without any pressure to perform. This is intended as an opportunity for local kids to develop the old fashioned "Rink Rat" mentality, and hopefully, help grow our youth hockey community and culture!
REGISTRATION: All Participants will be required to register by paying the fee, signing a Player Conduct Agreement, and a parent/guardian signing a Liability Waiver. Participants may register in person at the rink in the BCA main lobby April 6th(no school!) 12:30-2:30pm, April 7th 5:45-7:30pm, or April 9th 4:30-6:30pm. Card or check will be accepted, NO CASH. Upon payment, players will receive a custom helmet sticker which is required to be worn to participate. If the designated registration times don’t work for you, please contact BCA Manager Isaiah Bitter to sign up at bca.manager@outlook.com.
Players will be held accountable for upholding the Player Conduct Agreement. Sticker and skating privileges may be revoked at any time by the BCAC staff or board members for violating the Agreement. NO ARGUMENTS & NO REFUNDS.
*Depending on the number of registrants and participants, some or all sessions may be broken into separate age groups for player safety and numbers. All sessions are subject to change which may restrict or allow additional age groups based on the number of participants. It is intended to add additional sessions of open hockey if ice is not being utilized and the rink is open. Please watch the online schedule to verify ice times and availability prior to attending! We will try our best to keep you informed of any modifications/changes/additions. Please go to the Bemidji Community Arena website and click on Schedule to view all open hockey sessions (pink color).
**The $100 fee covers full spring/summer. Single sessions for those without the season pass will be charged at $10 per session. Partial or full scholarships may be available for those who cannot afford the fee, and those interested must contact BCA Manager Isaiah Bitter for details prior to skating. All scholarship requests will be kept private.
Bemidji Community Arena is a not-for-profit corporation run by a volunteer board and funded by community users and donors. If you value this opportunity, please consider donating to help cover the costs of ice and scholarships for those who are unable to afford the program.
